GENERAL INFORMATION "Cupid" should mature 15hh. He will be registered with the ASHS & PHPA. He is a very quiet and well handled foal. Like his sister Frostpect, he has an amazing temperament. His nickname fluctuates between Cupid & Apple ass, this foals hind quarters are HUGE. Cupid's muscle mass is well proportioned, he has a huge hip, a good length of rein, great confirmation, is well balanced, and he has a refined head but not to the point of being "feminine". His Dam, RHPPS Peppys Gift is a Bay Tobiano. She has had a successful Halter career with minimal outings. PHAA REGISTRATION ISSUE EXPLAINED: "Unfortunately, due to what im beginning to consider as a lack of concern by the association, with regards to the breeding of Cupids Dam (all Paint, Quarter Horse & Thoroughbred bloodlines) he cannot be officially "Paint" registered. As it states in the Paint Horse Assoc rules, if you can prove that the breeding is indeed Quarter Horse or Thoroughbred, the Board may accept the registration application. I sent all the proof to the association along with a cheque and application for registration for RHPPS Peppys Gift, and I find it hard to believe that the Board Members even reviewed the application, regardless, it was rejected. The only reason that KC S Gift was never registered fully with the AQHA instead of FM registered, is because it was going to cost too much for me to "advance" her sires registration (even though he is now a gelding) in order to register her, because he wasnt upgraded at the time he was bred over KCS Cadess. So all in all, as you can see for yourself, he is a paint horse ~ minus the "official paperwork" and as far as Im concerned, it's the associations Loss! As far as promoting the breed goes, I and many people that have seen Cupid, agree that he is a fine example of the Paint Horse breed"
His Sire is Admiral Frost, a Chestnut roan Quarter Horse, he is producing numerous challenge and campdraft winners. All his foals are extremely quiet with gentle natures and trainable minds. I have had quite a bit to do with this stallion first hand, and he is a lovely quiet horse himself.
Her sire, Quirran-Lea Shake N Peppy, has also had a successful halter career to minimal outings and is now Barrel Racing, at his first rodeo he placed 4th in Open Barrels, 3rd in Novice Horse Barrels. Second Barrel Race he won the Novice Horse Barrels and placed 1st in the Open Barrels 3rd Division. Her Dam, KC S Gift, was an extremely smart mare working a cow and Fast around the Barrels, and goes back to Lion Deck, Cassius Deck & KC S Cadet.
I also own a Blue/Black roan half sister to Cupid, by the same stallion, and she is an amazing mare. Very quiet, trainable and very smart working a cow. You couldnt ask for better horses when it comes to trainability.
I firmly believe that Cupid has the potential to go far in any chosen discipline, Show, Challenges, Campdrafting, Barrel Racing etc. And am looking forward to getting him into the show ring. Heres to hoping he's just as good as his sister (Frostpect) or better, I am champing at the "proverbial" bit, to break Cupid in and see what he's got to offer.
